Why is audio not playing on cyberlink downloaded mp4

Apr 03, The real answer to your question is as follows: There is an unfixed error in Power Director that pops up in an inconsistent way - sometimes your video will produce from the right clip, sometimes it won't. You can get around it by adding a small transition effect to the beginning of the clip. A quarter second of blur will do it.

Apr 03, Quote: The real answer to your question is as follows: There is an unfixed error in Power Director that pops up in an inconsistent way - sometimes your video will produce from the right clip, sometimes it won't. I have tried various things to get these videos to load correctly to edit them, but nothing has been working. My raw files are in.

MTS format, but those won't play correctly. If I put them into my media files in PowerDirector 10, I can hear the audio, but the preview screen just comes back black.

If I put them into the timeline, the audio is still playing, but the video is green. Powerdirector is giving me thumbnails that are from the video, though. About the other two formats, I tried putting the videos into another program, Avidemux, to convert them.

When I converted to. MP4, the files still had the same problem in Powerdirector. AVI, they would play in the preview window, but once in the editing timeline, they were back to green.

I think I need codecs, but I have no clue where to find the right ones. Hopefully, someone can help me. Just a few things to add: The videos play fine in other video players, such as VLC. I just updated my graphics drivers, so that's not the problem. Solved by Oct 18, I have the Cyberlink PowerDirector 6 that came with my laptop and when I try to edit wmv videos and mpg videos I am able to hear sound while I am editing them, but for my mp4 videos I can see the videos but I cannot hear any sound.

I have tried multiple encoders and decoders but the sound still doesn't go through. Although, I am able to hear sound when playing the mp4 files through Zoom player, and even Windows Media player. But it does not go through when I try to edit them in Power Director 6.
